George DJs react to new Sub Focus album and one ‘banga’ of a track is getting all the love

"Deep in the mixer 7 AM R&V vines stage kinda get up”.

Sub Focus, one of the most creatively talented and celebrated artists in the EDM business, just dropped his new album ‘Evolve’. So, we had some of your favourite George DJs listen to it and share their favourite tracks from it.

There are fourteen tracks on the new project but there’s one that has vibrated the eardrums of our DJs the most pleasingly (how's that for a bit of science chat?).

Beiks (George Nights)
‘Secrets’ ft. Camelphat, Culture Shock, and Rhodes is Beiks' favourite track from the album. He particularly loves the array of EDM talent coming together on the tune.

“It was a surprise to see different worlds colliding on this track,” he said. “I'm a sucker for exploration and to see Sub-Focus do that in a different genre is amazing. A phenomenal melding of minds to create a stellar track: A+ from me!”

Sin (George Drive)
Two tracks stood out to Sin. One was ‘Alarm’ with MC ID, which she simply described as a “big ol’ banga,” adding that she’s “keen”.

‘Waiting’ with Pola & Bryson and Kelli-Leigh was the other tune that tickled Sin’s fancy. “Past and future” collide on the track she said, adding that it’s “bringing back the signature 2012 sound!!!”

Brook (George Drive)
Brook also loved ‘Waiting’ saying it “brings me back to some early DnB days when I first came across the genre: Deep in the mixer 7 AM R&V vines stage kinda get up”.

Twentytwo (Full Send Friday - Fridays 9 PM)
Once again, ‘Waiting’ is the favourite for Twentytwo, the man providing the bumping tunes on Friday nights here at George.

He also finds the track evoking some memories of music from the early 2010s, adding that the features on the track play their part phenomenally.

“The vocals of Kelli-Leigh and the influence of Pola & Bryson in the drums and the minimal bass line is an echo of ‘Deep Down’ by Loadstar and Caan,” he said. “It’s hitting me with some nostalgia from 2015! This one ticks all the boxes. Big Album!”

Looking like ‘Waiting’ will be a track to remember for 2023, and perhaps a comeback of that early 2010s EDM sound is on the way.
