Tāmaki Makaurau producer Caru has made himself a household name within what feels like a matter of months. However Caru is no stranger to high level production as he was an integral part of local duo Imugi for years. More recently though he’s directed his creative flow to take on the dark dance floors of Aotearoa.
Which brings us to his latest endeavor, a track that’s part of an illustrious remix package. ‘The United Tribes Of Bass Remix Album’.
An album spearheaded by a fellow local producer Mokotron that is composed exclusively of Maori & Cook Island electronic music producers.
Caru has given his own take on Mokotron’s ‘TAWHITO’

Caru has mentioned how he thinks of Mokotron as a pioneering member and force in the electronic music space, making a sound distinct to Aotearoa. The respect also flows both ways - “There’s no one in Aotearoa who inspires me more right now than Caru” - Mokotron
TAWHITO - Caru Remix is the first single off the remix album and if this is a sign of what’s to come, we can’t wait.
