Fatboy Slim and Rita Ora's 'Praising You' video dropped and Taika Waititi has outdone himself

"Paying homage to such a massive song from my childhood was truly a surreal experience.”

Fatboy Slim and Rita Ora’s new track 'Praising You' - a rework of the 90s hit 'Praise You' - is here with a music video directed by none other than Taika Waititi.

If you're a fan of Fatboy Slim's original hit, you may have preferred Rita Ora left it alone, but she's given a red hot go at giving the track a fresh new sound while keeping the catchy beat that made it so popular in the first place.

Speaking about how the collaboration came to be Fatboy told NME: “From a chance meeting late one night in the Naughty Corner at Glastonbury, a friendship and collaboration grew that on paper may look unlikely. Yet here it is, and it has a life of its own!

Rita added: “To not only get [Fatboy Slim’s] stamp of approval but to actually collaborate with him and pay homage to such a massive song from my childhood was truly a surreal experience.”

“I THINK THIS RECORD MEANS SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE, BUT FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, IT’S ABOUT PRAISING YOUR LOVED ONES AND REALLY CELEBRATING THOSE RELATIONSHIPS.”

She finished: “I’m incredibly honoured that we get to breathe new life into the song and re-introduce it to a whole new generation.”

You can just tell the vibes were high while on the set from this BTS look from Rita’s TikTok.

In the video for the tune, the Kiwi director brought his unique style and classic Kiwi humour to the table while making his wife shine like the main character she is.

Taika explained: “All That Jazz meets 8 Mile meets Fame meets Spike's original video. In honour of the amateur with a dream, this video embraces and praises the beauty of just doing something because it's your passion and it makes you happy.”

He added: “Collaborating with my lady friend @ritaora makes me happy.”

So turn up the volume, dance like nobody's watching, and let Rita Ora, Taika Waititi and Fatboy Slim add a little joy to your life.
