A viral video of a major disposable vape distributor’s staff member testing products with his mouth has caused a stir over hygiene practices.
A YouTube video by MACHINA gave us a peek behind the scenes at top disposable vape factories in China’s Baoan, Shenzhen. Here is where a massive 80% of the world's disposable vapes are made.
The shocking video titled ‘Do they REALLY test every single vape by mouth??’ shows every step of the production line and it turns out the answer is a big YES!
Each vape goes through a bunch of tests - including being puffed on by a factory worker - before they hit the shelves.
As the host Noah explains, with the creation of so many vapes with different flavours, sizes, and shapes, it’s not profitable for factories to build machines to test each and every variation.
That’s why they go through testing by humans who are more “adaptable” to the differences of each device.
It does leave us wondering what happens between the testing and packaging before we consume the product.
The creator of the viral video revealed that the product DOES undergo sterilisation before the final packaging stage, but we never see any footage of this step.
And while many were gobsmacked to discover that the man was taking a toke on upwards of 10,000 vapes in a single day, others couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact he was raw dogging his lips on every device without any protection.
“Absolutely rank knowing every single vape has had that guy's lips around it. Gagging at the thought,” said one YouTube comment.
Another wrote: “Curious that we don't get to see this ‘final sterilisation step’, lol.”
“Why can't they at least put a little disposable plastic piece on the vape when testing it by mouth???” asked a third.
A fourth joked: “The fuck, are you telling me this guy is my first ever kiss???”
“So you’re telling me I never actually get the first hit?” asked another.
I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep easy until I see the proof. Right now, it’s just word of mouth - pun fully intended!
